Many of our teachers are AVID trained despite some changes in staff over the past few year. We are blessed that our administration is well versed in AVID and we have an Instructional Coach that is an AVID Staff Developer. Our new Literacy Interventionist has previously been an AVID Coordinator and teacher as well. This past summer we sent 5 teachers to the Summer Institute in Tampa.

Chief's Briefs is a weekly memo that is sent out to the staff by the principal. Chief's Briefs shares out an AVID strategy each week through a Google Slide.
Beginner Teachers receive AVID strategy PD during their monthly BT meetings by our AVID trainer.
Our AVID Trainer presents AVID strategies at our monthly SIT/AVID/PTO meetings for the faculty, staff, and parents.
On 10/26/23 our AVID Site Team Coordinator virtually attended an AVID National Demonstration Forum and used this information in our "continous improvement cycle" of planning, doing, acting, and studying. On December 13, 2022 three members of our AVID Site Team and our AVID Site Team Coordinator attened an AVID Showcase at Chatham Central School in Bear Creek and came back with ideas to continue making informed decisions about sustaining AVID Schoolwide.
All of our professional learning opportunities for staff model AVID strategies and include resources for teachers to turn around and use them in their classrooms or with their department. Our Instructional Coach is also available to teachers for coaching and often works with teachers in helping identify ways to improve.
