Our media center coordinator helps our students with accessing Digital Information.
All of our teachers use Google Classroom as a tool for resources. Some teachers use a software called "Remind" to communicate with students. Our AP Calulus students have a group chat where they can collaborate to work on calculus problems.

This video shows our AVID elective students working during a tutorial session.
Our AVID elective Seniors planned a field trip called "Race to Adulting" where they learned how to make adult decisions , ride public transportation, and manuever around a larger city. Students planned the whole itinerary, assumed leadership, and collaborated with their peers and the chaperones.
Using our MHS planners, our AVID students complete a weekly grade check, self care, and weekly learning log to review their goals and monitor their progress.
All AVID students are required to use a binder and use our MHS planner
Students arrived prepared with course materials and take responsibility for their learning.
Here is an example from our AP Psychology class. and this is the process that they used. (see below)
I put this slide up on the board to help guide them in marking up the text that they were reading about the different approaches in Psychology. I would say this is the process of critical reading. They got engaged with the text, by looking at different case studies and figuring out what approach is shown in that case study. I selected the text, because it summarizes the information in a very valuable way to help them understand the different approaches and give them real life examples.
