Oregon Promise Grant

By Abe J. Selvas

OVERVIEW: This month's opportunity goes out to the graduating Class of 2021, who have had to endure one of the toughest periods of their high school careers!

Please watch this video to see if you are eligible!

Depending on when you graduate this year, the deadline for your application to the Oregon Promise Grant will vary. Your deadline can be found by using the site embedded to the left. This grant is meant to aid recently graduated high schoolers and GED graduates to cover their tuition costs at any community college within the state of Oregon. This grant will definitely be handy if you plan on staying in Oregon and delve into STEM opportunities and education. Another wonderful thing about this particular grant is that it does not exactly have a time limit. It is used for a set amount of college credits (90 credits, to be exact).

The amount received will be varied between 1,000 - 3,540 dollars and the factors that determine the amount received include Average Tuition Cost, Need-Based Grants, Number of Credits, and Co-Pay. For a full description of the factors and the possible calculations for your grant money, please view the embedded video to the right.

If you are willing to apply before the complete closing of the Grant on June 1st, going to attend Community College next year, and planning on staying in Oregon, please visit The Oregon Promise Grant and apply as soon as possible. Once again, remember to use the other form at the bottom of the page to provide some feedback.

Until next time, work hard--and good luck!
