There are 4 charactors (char) in the code
First Char: = year "0" - 1900-1999 & "1" = 2000-+
Second & Third Chars = actual year
72 = 1972, 98=1998, 21=2021"
Fourth Char = 3 = Spring, 5 = Summer, 9 = Fall term
Examples: 0725 represents summer of 1972, 0983 represents spring of 1998, and 1219 represents fall 2021

Academic "programs" in the following coding structure in PeopleSoft are the organizational "entity" in which a student is "admitted to" and from which they may or may not "graduate" or "complete" an academic program.
It controls: Academic calendars, academic policy, academic tuition and some fees, etc.

Academic Plans & Codes
An Academic Plan can be a major, minor, or certificate program that has a U of MN degree associated with it.
An Academic Plan can also be tracking placeholder that does not lead to a degree or a certificate. (Pre majors, Additional majors, PSEO, CITS, guest students, etc).

Commonly Used Terms
ICT - Intercampus student decision to change (transfer) between UMD Colleges & Schools (CEHSP to CAHSS, or SCSE to LSBE, etc)
IUT - Interuniversity Transfer Student (Student started out as degree seeking at another UMN campus before coming to UMD)
MULT - A student who is attending classes on a UMN campus that is not their "home" primary campus
NAS - New, Advanced Academic Standing (AKA transfer student at time of admission)
NHS - New, High School Student (student may/may not have transfer credit but this is their first post secondary educational experience after K-12/secondary education)
