Sharing news about what happened during the day at school, or what happened over the weekend at home, is possible for all AAC users! It's easy and takes just a few steps:
Step 1: Ask your child what they want to share with their teacher when they get to school, or ask your student what they want to share with mom and dad when they get home. Make sure the message is theirs, but you can help them by asking a question like, "What did we get to watch on TV?" or "Who came to visit our class today?"
Step 2: Record and/or save the message on their device. Select a video below for a quick (less than 5 minutes) how-to!
Step 3: Remind other adults they need to ask the child about their day. For example, (parent to teacher) "Mrs. Smith, make sure you ask Annie what we did last night!" or, (teacher to parent) "Mr. Wu, don't forget to ask Lilly about what we did at school today!"
... And that's it! Enjoy communicating with your students.

Bonus Tip: If you're using recordable buttons, once you know how to program in a sequence of messages, there are LOTS of ways to use them!
Special Note: Thank you to The Bridge School for inspiring this idea with the Home-School Connections program.
