7th Grade Girls Basketball
7th grade girls basketball had a challenging season this year. Tryouts were the first step to start the season, and working hard to earn a spot on the team. Two weeks after tryouts we started practices, which were difficult, but fun! Later, when games started we had fun but home was very competitive, loud and supportive. With all of that energy we were able to bring home the championship.
7th grade girls basketball was challenging but we made it through the season. First, were the tryouts. We started the tryouts with a roll call, one by one we were called up. After roll call we went to do warm-ups and two laps on the track and later, dribbling and shooting drills. To wrap up, we played two versus three on the courts.Tryouts went on for two days and it was the same routine.
A few weeks later the new team had to start practice. The first practice was just about introducing everything. During the first few minutes of practice we had to run a lap before starting warmups, then we did a few warm ups and dribbling drills. After a quick water break we started to learn and practice a few plays. After a few drills we would play a game with the eighth graders, or play a scrimmage. Every day we practiced hard.
After a few weeks we had our first game. We ended up with a loss but we did our best. Two days later we played even harder and our scores got closer and closer. We continued to fight and started to win a few games. Once we started getting closer to the end of the season, our opponents started to get more aggressive. Even so we still were able to stand strong, work our hardest, and win a few more games to make it to the championships.
The championships were hard to get into but we made it into the top four. We were very excited and worked hard to be ready for the championship game. The day of the game we were all excited but nervous at the same time. Before the game we all gave a pep talk and got ready to play. We were aggressive and very supportive of each other, but in the end we did not make it to the finals overall. We were very proud of one another. We ended the season off with a banquet which was a fun time to hang out with the team for a little bit.
In conclusion, this season of seventh grade girls basketball was a very rocky but successful season. We practiced hard, and we came together as a team. Our Coach helped us out and with what we had a positive look out to the season. Overall we did great but I'm sure next year will be better.
