A Great Teacher
Mrs. Williams is one of the most amazing social studies teachers in history. Mrs. Williams is a seventh-grade teacher, and she enjoys working with students. She finds CMS an amazing place to work. Her classroom is full of fun, iconic posters, chickens, and artwork. She has many wonderful CMS accomplishments and annual events that occur every year including the 17 annual Renaissance Fair. This year will be her last year teaching, so let's make it special.
When she joined CMS Mrs. William liked the energy and the staff. Growing up she wanted to become a heart surgeon, then a counselor. She was advised to get her teaching credential, so she did and worked very hard for it. Mrs. Morris’s mom, Mrs. Barbara Morris was a very helpful contribution to Mrs. Williams' teaching career, by helping her get her master's degree. She remembers Barbara being one of the most helpful staff members when she first became a teacher. Buzz Rainer was also a very helpful person to Mrs. Willians. He helped her when she was his student in English class and inspired her.
If you have ever been in her classroom you know, from her Halloween costume to the posters on her wall, she loves the Mona Lisa painting by Leonardo da Vinci. Seeing Mona Lisa in Italy played a huge role in her love for painting. Teaching about the Renaissance and the art of the Renaissance-inspired her to further her knowledge. As you may know, she also has a wall in her classroom that contains student work and memorable objects. I asked what her top three favorite pieces were, and she pointed out a piece of artwork made by a student over winter break. Over Thanksgiving break, a former student gave her a picture of themselves eating pie. Lastly, she loves a picture of the last core class that she taught. I believe that we can all agree that Mrs. Williams' class is one of the most iconic at CMS.
When asked what her biggest CMS accomplishment was, Mrs. Williams said it was pulling off the Renaissance Fair. The Renaissance Fair is an annual event where the seventh graders act as merchants, bankers, and entertainers, and help the queen and king out. The Renaissance Fair is one of the biggest CMS events and is difficult to plan out. Mrs. Williams helps pull it off with her favorite motto “Work Hard, Be kind.” She has shared this motto with all of her previous students so they will work hard for what they want while also being kind.
As you can see, Mrs. Williams has been a great teacher to CMS and impacted the school greatly. She loves teaching, art and most of all her students. We have her to thank for the Renaissance Fair. This year will be her last year teaching. CMS is honored to have had Mrs. Williams as a teacher, and staff member.
