Track and Field
This year's CMS Track & Field team, is looking very promising and there are high hopes of that the team may become league champions. The track team had their very first meet last on Friday, March 31st. Of course, the team swept most of their categories, even after only having very few practices! “We won the 4x1 and so did the boys and everyone who did the 4x4 killed it,” states 8th grader, Gio Guidi. This year's track team has four amazing coaches that help push all the athletes to their full potential.
Tennis
The CMS "A" team has been off to a good start. They won their first two games, the first against All Saints and the second against Pacific Grove Middle. So far, the weather has prohibited them from being able to practice and improve their skills as well as track. However, the "A" Team hopes to get back on the court and continue freshening up their skills.
The CMS Tennis "B" Team has had no games yet, but they hope to come back after the break, better than ever, to win their first game. 8th Grader, David Bogart states, “I love how we have a ton of matches to play in practice, and we're going to obliterate all of the teams." Go cougars! Good luck to all the tennis teams, let's earn victory once again!
Wrestling
The wrestling team, which has not been prohibited by weather, has been thriving and improving skills in practice and on the mat. In fact, many of the team members are winning their matches. This year, the wrestling team has chosen four captains to help lead their teammates to victory. The four captains include Carter Lloyd, Carl Weigel, Dominick Ranasky, and Kanan Seeklander. As the head coach, Russel Shugars states, “This year we have a lot of new people, which makes it easy for everyone to practice and have a partner to excel each other.” Everyone is very confident in the wrestling team as they dominate each weight class one by one.
