I asked students to reflect on the writing they did in our Creative Writing Class.
Nishka: I think my greatest growth was being able to write about more sensitive topics, and incorporating real-life problems in my writing.
Sachi: I’ve grown the most in terms of figuring out how to develop my characters and add plot twists that benefit or add to the mystery of the story. I’ve enjoyed learning how to add small details to my stories that may hint at something larger.
Felix: I've grown the most in just getting my thoughts down and out of my head, it helps that I don't have to envision it all at once.
Myiesha: I've been able to slow down my stories and not rush through them anymore. I've also been able to go into different types of writing like poems.
Savannah: I think my greatest place of growth has been being able to write longer stories and making them more detailed.
Omer: I have been able to add lots of detail and write to new prompts. I have tried many new styles of writing.
Jacob: I have learned a lot about elements of a story like suspense, different points of view in a story, how to write a plot twist, and many other things. I've also gotten better at continuing to write a story and not just giving up after day 1. I've also grown in developing and describing my characters.
