Summer Session, 6/1
Nishka: “Your insight to do the wrong thing is highly appreciated.”
Myiesha: “i opened up to a newly wed bride, men who have already died”
Omer: “I can almost make out the sadness in his eyes, tainting them, blurring the happiness with the hardships of war.”
Sunny: “I mutter something meant to be a greeting and I assume he takes it as he settles down.”
Summer Session, 6/8
Myiesha: “grey like the sky on a cold winter’s day”
Samar: "I obviously was hungry and thirsty but burning hot tea was a bad move.”
Nishka: “A cake. It has vanilla extract, flour, butter, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda—” I stopped when I realized that this woman didn’t understand a word I said.
Deeksha: “The secret was that there was an invisible bunker under the house.”
Sunny: "He crawls out the way just before my hand hits my shoulder and sets my green tunic ablaze."
Summer Session, 6/15
Samar: “Eden stood up and looked me in the eyes. ‘They found us.’ Her hair started to frizz and stand up again as she looked at the back door. She said loudly as if she was demanding it, ‘Open.’ The door slammed against the wall making a loud BANG.. She said softly, “Run.’”
Nishka: “However, a 30-day trip on a 2,000 year old boat with 300 other people may not always be the best idea for a fun time.”
Myiesha: “her shelves filled with lives, her notes filled with stories, her mind entered a new world with every book.
Deeksha: “Giana was way too suprised when she was waiting in line that she nearly fainted.”
Lillia: “Ok, ok, fine. You all are crazy, you know that? When we get back, you are so dead!”
Omer: “But if I have gained new found riches, then I can easily as you put it climb the social ladder, for people, well they are only people.”
Sophia: "It was a boring day in mid-July, the humid air was breathing down my neck while my friends spread already spread rumors whispered throughout the high school next door, trying to be older than they were."
Sachi: “A blue light flickered from across the street, casting lengthy shadows on the pavement.”
Aviv: “Time. It takes us all.”
Summer Session, 6/22
Samar: “Leaves rustling in the wind, the animals and critters scurry around the redwood trees that stand tall against the bustling tourists who come early just for a glimpse of the reddish-brown giants.”
Myiesha: “I found it fascinating how she would take pride in her knowledge of the moon, sun, and of course, the sky.”
Nishka: “The fish stared me down as if it were trying to challenge me to a battle.”
Lillia: “This buffoon was slowly walking toward it with his arms and legs stretched wide and his ginger eyebrows pointed high.”
Deeksha: “I never thought I would say this but when I ran to find out what the loud thump was I saw a fairy.”
Sophia: "The hotel room had beige walls and beige carpet and beige furniture with a beige personality."
Sachi: “Pale and dusty like a weak, stolen, sickness.”
Sunny: “The muddy path changes into a pebble pathway intermixed with somewhat valuable gems, seemingly scattered like they had little worth.”
Summer Session, 6/29
Samar: “The door slammed shut as did my anticipation if she ever would come out again.”
Myiesha: “If he saw me like this I would never be allowed outside again.”
Nishka: “The doctors take the results of theoretical situations, and take the average.”
Felix: “Calculate pi”
Sophia: “Car headlights glared through the misty rain, red eyes glowing straight ahead, paying attention to nothing but the bumper in front of them and where to turn right.”
Sunny: "Chances are, you may have even seen a shooting star once during a glance at the starry night sky."
Sachi: “Humans are creatures prone to disagreement and destruction.”
Omer: “The amulet was never meant to reach human hands, yet it has.”
Summer Session, 7/6
Samar: “Let's get this straight, who says hi to a journal?”
Deeksha: “Sandy had one problem. How was she supposed to see an invisible bunker?”
Felix: “Instead, I got a standard gas-guzzling banana and a driver that could be a surly lumberjack.”
Sachi: “They walked around the court, brandishing their shiny knives, and dragging away anyone they could see.”
Summer Session, 7/27
Deeksha: "She thought of an idea, so the security guards wouldn’t find out that she had the flower."
Samar: “My parents think I’m their child, but they’re wrong. My 'parents' tried to kill me the minute I turned 16. You don't need to know my name but you might as well know my story."
Felix: "As I rode down the slide, I pondered my life choices."
Sunny: "To any onlookers, he might have well looked like an extremely irritated bull."
Sophia: "Never seen a gun, have you? All your friends only play with words..."
Aviv: I take off, flying up, up, up, till the evergreens are just random patterns of tiny dots, their color contrasting with the dead grass that is their neighbor all around.
Sachi: “In her hysterics and confusion her almost laughed at the absurdity of the situation but quickly defused her laughter.”
Summer Session, 8/3
Myiesha: “The garden reminds me of my mother and how she would spend hours making sure each and every blossom was beaming, all the animals were contentedly fed, and the grass was watered evenly so there were no dead patches. Now, many flowers hang low no matter h0w many times I try to revive them, the animals are not thriving even though I spend every day feeding them, and the grass seems to stop growing even though I water it exactly like my mother did. Why can’t I do anything right?”
Aviv: “We'll start this story the traditional way, with Once Upon A Time.”
Sunny: “If you were to look up at the night sky, most stars would not be visible. Not that it matters, as it wouldn’t be possible to see the stars on Earth anymore.”
Sachi: “The sound of the police’s thundering footsteps grew louder in the hallway as he cast one final glance at the piece of paper before disappearing out the door.”
