About Teri Gruenwald

I retired in June 2019, after 32 years of teaching. I exclusively taught middle school, primarily 8th grade Language Arts and History, but at times, I also taught different electives, such as Creative Writing, Digital Media Literacy, and English Language Learners Support for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. In addition, I ran a Creative Writing Club for about 25 of my 32 years of teaching. I am a teacher-consultant with the Bay Area Writing Project and taught in an after-school Creative Writing program for 3rd to 5th graders. I enjoy writing and have had some pieces published in different books and journals, but I especially love working with middle school students on their writing, particularly those for whom writing is a passion or a hobby. That's why I decided to form this class.
