GUIDANCE AND SCHOOL COUNSELING SERVICES
and Individual Learning Plans
All students are assigned a school counselor when entering the high school. The counselor will help the student choose a challenging course of study as well as assist the student in gaining the essential academic, career, and personal-social skills to allow that student to pursue a healthy and enriching life during and after high school. Counselors and advisors, using the Individual Learning Plan (ILP), help students organize their academic program in high school as well as plan for college, the military or the world of work. The ILP is a valuable resource for parents. Students are encouraged to view their ILP with their child. ILPs are state-required and are a key component in helping students navigate their way through school and through the myriad of post-secondary options. The ILP will be one of the components of the Googlio required for graduation.
