Prerequisite: Pre-Calculus Honors with recommended grade of A, B or C, or Pre-Calculus with recommended grade of A. It is required that the student have a TI -83 or TI-84 graphing calculator. Graphing calculators can be rented from the school for $10 per semester.
COURSE DESCRIPTION: Calculus is a collection of powerful and flexible techniques for obtaining useful solutions to an astonishing variety of problems in science, technology, and industry. It is also a mathematical discipline with precisely stated definitions and theorems logically deduced from carefully stated postulates. The course progresses through a study of functions and their behavior, limits, derivatives of algebraic and trigonometric functions, continuity, maxima and minima, Rolle’s theorem, the Mean Value Theorem and an introduction to the initial concepts of integration. Students will be expected to take the AP Calculus Exam in May. Students absent on the day of the exam are responsible for the unused test fee of approximately $15.00.

The course progresses through a study of functions and their behavior, limits, derivatives of algebraic and trigonometric functions, continuity, maxima and minima, Rolle’s theorem, the Mean Value Theorem and an introduction to the initial concepts of integration. Students will be expected to take the AP Calculus BC Exam in May. Students will receive a Calculus AB subscore and Calculus BC score.

Prerequisite: Algebra I, Geometry and Algebra II with recommended grades of A or B. It is recommended that students have taken Pre-Calculus with A or B. It is required that the student have a TI -83 or TI-84 graphing calculator. Graphing calculators can be rented from the school for $10 per semester.
COURSE DESCRIPTION: This is a college statistics course. The course includes the planning of a statistical study and learning about statistical inferences in regard to that study. The use of the graphing calculator is central to the course. It is required that students have a graphing calculator and take the Advanced Placement Statistics test. Students may gain college credit with a successful score.
Students will be expected to take the AP Statistics Exam in May. Students absent on the day of the exam are responsible for the unused test fee of approximately $15.00.
