Ms. Susann Roden holds several responsibilities at Commerce High School. She is the Section 504, RtI, LPAC and IGC Coordinator for part of the day; and, she teaches students who are served in the Special Education Program as well as the English as Second Language Program the remainder of the day.
Ms. Roden began her teaching career as an instructional aide and job coach in a special education program in Nebraska. Her first teaching assignment was at Wills Point High School as a special education teacher from 1995 to 2007. She began as a Special Education Life Skills Teacher and acquired the Department Chair position.
In 2007 Ms. Roden began teaching in Roxton ISD. She served as the Special Programs Coordinator and began her training in Section 504 and Dyslexia. Ms. Roden helped create and implement an RtI program for the district. Also, during her time at Roxton, she completed her Master Degree through Texas A&M – Commerce and became a certified principal and superintendent.
In August of 2013 Ms. Roden began working for Commerce ISD as a Resource English Teacher and the Drill Team Coach. Soon thereafter she begin serving the district in the areas of Section 504, Dyslexia and RtI. Upon the district’s request, Ms. Roden became ESL certified and began coordinating the LPAC Program at Commerce High School (CHS) and shortly after she began coordinating the meetings for the Individual Graduation Committee (IGC) assisting students with their graduation goals.
Ms. Roden serves the students and community of Commerce, Texas with passion and pride.
