My name is John McSheffery. This current school year will be my seventh year teaching; my fourth year at Commerce High School. Growing up, I always had a passion for math and football, which inspired my career. I currently coach football and powerlifting. I graduated high school from Sulphur Springs and went to college at West Texas A&M University where I received my bachelor’s and master’s degree while playing football.
Mission statement: Our mission in the athletic department is to provide opportunities for student-athletes to grow as men and women. We want our student-athletes to become successful employable young adults. By being a part of Commerce Athletics, we want them to obtain the following traits: discipline, effort, hard work, loyalty, and integrity.
