School counselors are here to help with any social/emotional issues or concerns students may be having. Depending on the situation, they may also refer students and their parents to outside counseling or, if available in the high school, Nationwide Children's Hospital or other on-site counselors. Together with school social workers, school counselors provide special programming (ex. Signs of Suicide), classroom guidance (ex. growth mindset lessons) and small group counseling (ex. grief support groups) to address the social/emotional needs of their students.
Don't know where to turn or just need to talk? Start with your school counselor! Your counselor will communicate with you (student and/or parent) during typical school hours. Need help with rent, utilities or other community resources? Scroll to the bottom of this page & contact your school's social worker.
