We can use “used to + infinitive” to talk about past habits that are not true anymore. We can use all verbs “action or stative verbs”
👉 I used to live in Madrid when I was a kid, but now I don’t (solía…)
👉 There didn’t use to be a bar there. When did it open? (no solía…)
👉 Did you use to have a car? (¿solías…?)
We can also use “would” to talk about past habits but only with “action verbs“. We don’t use it in negative sentences or questions.
👉 I would go biking every weekend when I was at university (solía…)
👉 He would smoke but he gave up a few years ago (solía…)
