Banning Together to End Bullying, GirlGrind Club hosts Anti-bullying Pledge

Author Visit Kicks off the Event

Local children's author Angela Amos kicked off Piedmont's anti-bullying pledge drive at Piedmont by appearing on our morning announcements as a guest of Piedmont's Girl Grind club. As a children's author, Angela Amos writes about issues young people face. She knows kids are smart kind people who dep down knows what is right and can solve problems. Girl Grind group is part of the solution Ms Amos advocates: giving students the right skills and proper support to make good decisions. 

Club Chaperone and Piedmont parent Ms. Chanel Henderson arranged the visit and helped students organize the pledge and annoucement presentation.

Ms. Amos also met with Ms. Tapia's small group students at the start of their ELA lesson. Check out their matching Ban Bullying Bands!

Students who sign the girl grind pledge in person are eligible to win one of 5 free copies of the 10th anniversary specila edition of Ms Amos' first book, "Twas the Fight Before Christmas" which explores the impact of bullying on children and their familes both in the physical world and the digital realm.
