This specification enables students to study different aspects of the past, encouraging them to engage with key issues such as conflict, understand what drives change and how the past influences the present. This course also encourages students to learn thematically and in depth across the 4 separate courses.

Medicine through time: c1250 to the present day (including WW1 case study)
Early Elizabethan England, 1558-1588
This thematic study will enable students to gain an understanding of how medicine and public health developed in Britain over a long period of time. The case study for WW1 takes a wider look at the conflict with a focus on the care and treatment of wounds and illness.
