S4 Literacy

The QS National 2 English and Communication - package 1, is a unit-by-unit course that consists of the following QS unit assessments:

• Creating Texts

• Listening and Talking

• Understanding Language

The National 1 Communications course, which runs parallel to the National 2 course, allows for differentiation to support individual learners. These QS unit assessments are: 

• Creating Text

• Listening and Responding to Text

• Recognising Text

These courses focus on the core literacy skills required for reading, writing, listening and talking.

Progression: QS National 3 English in S5

S5 Literacy

For QS National 3 English and Communication, the course is made up of the following mandatory QS units: 

• English: Reading

• English: Writing 

• English: Listening and Talking (combined)

The course focuses on developing core literacy and transferable skills, with adaptations to support individual learners.
