"Slow Fashion: For Better Environment." My main issue is that fast fashion is bad for the environment.. Why? because fast fashion includes the depletion of non-renewable sources, emission of greenhouse gases and the use of massive amounts of water and energy.
My Goal
Specific~ My goal is that I want to make at least 3 different outfit while combining art and fashion. I also want to make people to be interested in making a slow fashion business or buy a slow fashion products.
Measurable~ For this project, my plan was to finish all the design sketches, painting and patch working the product for about 3 weeks in total.
Attainable~ For me I think is achievable. As long as I could manage my time well and I could keep on track with my timeline.
Realistic~ Yes, since I think is achievable I could make it realistic. I just need to choose some textile and the artists work that I want to paint it later on the fabric.
Time-based~ I actually start at around November 2020 but at the middle of the process, I decided to change my CP which was at February 2021 which is this one that I'm doing right now. I have only a week to do researches and interview and another week for making the sketches and choose the fabric and the third week I should be done.
The process of identifying the users is actually when I was researching about what the issue is then I realized that a lot of people prefer to buy fast fashion but they don’t realize that it is bad for the environment. They prefer to buy an outfit that is comfortable for them to wear and at a low price. They prefer fast fashion brand because it's easy for them to find it at the mall and there are also many different types of outfit and also in a low price than slow fashion. Actually this product could be used by any age but more focus on the youth. Why do I decide the user is for the youth? It’s actually because I chose youth because youth will definitely develop in the future and if they want to make a business they can make products that are slow fashion or at least, do not damage the environment. Even though slow fashions can't solve the problem 100% but still, little things matter.

How have you reframed your "How might we question"?
How should I make people to be more encourage at slow fashion?
How do I make people to be aware of the effect of fast fashion?
How to show people the techniques of slow fashion?
For fast fashion problem the two possible solutions are first, making a campaign to spread awareness about the effect of fast fashion to the environment. It will make people to have more knowledge about fast fashion. Second, make an Instagram account about fast fashion and slow fashion. Why? because a lot of people are using social media and it might help them to know more. While making the process the one thing that is currently causing me to stress about my project is when I have to changed my project in the middle of the process. I have to change the project because it's not possible for me to achieve it. I have to research everything all over again and interview people.
These are my prototype. I made 3 different outfit which are a jacket, dress, and a shirt. For the jacket I paint the back part and on the sleeves. For the other two which are the dress and shirt, I use one of the techniques which is patchworking. So I paint it at a small square fabric then sew it at the outfit. Those paintings in the outfit are paintings that are painted by one of the famous artists, Mark Rothko. He is know for his color field paintings that depicted irregular and painterly rectangular region of color.
“Do people want it?” Is a question that has always been in my head since the process making of my CP until the final product. I realized that some of the paint is not really neat in the outfit and if I could re-do it again I will make sure to make them more nice and neat. I was thinking to probably change an artist for me to paint their paintings in the product, artists that people would like more.
How I will sell it before I build it, if I have to fake it is through an online website. Since it is still pandemic and not all people could go outside their houses, people will do online shopping. It could be through a website, online shopping app, or social media. It will be easier to sell it.
How I will create a similar experience with much less effort is I would do it in a different object. In this CP I paint it at the clothes or outfit that I design already and ask a tailor to make it. I want to try to paint it in a bag or tote bag. It’s a lot easier because it’s a lot easier for me to find a plain tote bag and paint it there.
I want my users to interact with my experience through an advertisement. It could be an advertisement from social media or having someone to promote the outfits.

This is my Culminating Project in year 9 and it is called Cassia. The meaning of Cassia is actually a commonly known golden shower, because this tree has a lot of yellow flowers in it. Since there are a lot of flowers in it, it makes everything around it smell good. The same thing as what I’ve been meaning with my work, I want to promote the slow fashion industry like the way a Cassia tree spread the scent. I want to make people aware of it. So, I make three different products that are dress, jacket, and shirt. In those three products I chose one of the techniques of slow fashion which I painted by myself.
