The COVID-19 virus has made a BIG impact on all of our lives. We had no choice other than to perform self quarantines at our own homes for the sake of the world. It has been a year since our quarantine period started, but some people (including me) still struggle to move on and adapt to a standard and healthier lifestyle in the new normal era.
Specific - What am I doing? Why am I doing it?
I am creating a base/place for people (more specifically students) to learn how to reduce the amount of stress that we get from school work. The reason why I am doing it is because I see lots of students (most of them are people around me) that feels like their productivity on doing school work has decreased way more compared to before quarantine. Based on the survey I have given out to primary to secondary students, they feel more stressed and pressured after having to work from home / online learning mostly caused by school work. Not only that they feel stressed out, their grades can go down too because of it.
Measurable - How will I know I have succeeded? What are the indicators?
I will know that I have succeeded when I am able to live a less stressful life following my own tips which means that my tips actually does work and give results. Then the next step would be to share my own experiences to others that are willing to try my suggestions.
Attainable - How can I make this happen? Is it achievable?
I can make this happen by living a better quarantine life myself. Once that happens I can create the account as a place to share my thoughts and experiences on doing different things to improve our quarantine lives.
Relevant - How is the goal relevant to your problem and interest?
It is DEFINITELY relevant to my own problems with quarantine because I’m also a student who also struggles to get rid of my stress caused by mostly school work and the inability to manage it well.
Time-Based - When exactly do I want to accomplish my goal?
I place to accomplish my goal before quarantine ends. But even if it has ended (which will be better news), the tips and content I have written down and shared in my product (instagram account) will still be useful to help manage our workload in general.
It was rather easy to empathize with my audience because I am them. Most of my audiences are also my friends and the people around and close to me so I got to have a peek at their feelings and thoughts on going through online learning. When it comes to empathizing with my audience, there was no formal interview needed because they were my friends and we would just update each other on how we’ve been doing through chats and calls, and without realizing it, I’ve got my information right there. Most of the stories they tell me would include words like boring, stressful, drop out, failing, etc. which was really showing that most of my classmates had negative thoughts, 0 motivation, and wasn’t expecting much of their term grades. The fact that we, as a class, agreed on failing together, also shows how much we had given up on school and on our own improvement.
For my end product, I have decided to create an Instagram account for me to share my content for other people. I plan to post tips on things like fixing our sleep schedule, building a daily routine, tips to not procrastinate on work and more tips for our quarantine life. I will also post recommendations on activities that we can do at home.
