"The Pandemic from Different Point of Views"
Kata Mereka is a project about different point of views of people on the pandemic, having a YouTube video as the final product. Based on what I analyze (also my survey), there are still some people out there who still complains about this pandemic and can't find the good insights of it. We all our certainly struggling, yet, some still act as if they suffer the most, and can't find the gratitude out of this situation.
So, through Kata Mereka, I just want to tell people that they’re not the only one who’s struggling and that there are others who are struggling too yet no matter how worse their situation is, they still manage to find the gratitude out of it. And I just want to make the public to open their eyes and see how the perspective of other people who were hugely impacted by the pandemic are, and that they, of course, are struggling too; harder even.
Specific
What am I doing? Why am I doing it?
I’m making a project about the pandemic from different point of views. It 's in the form of a YouTube video that contains an interview of me with 7 different people with 7 different pandemic stories. Through that, I want to tell people that they aren't the only one who's struggling in this pandemic, that there are others who may have even bigger struggles yet they still can seek gratitude out of that. So I hope through my video, I can make other people be more aware and open-minded on how other people struggle with different things throughout this pandemic and to make them realize and reflect on how they feel grateful on this situation.
Measurable
How will I know I have succeeded? What are the indicators?
I know it by seeing people’s responses to my video on YouTube. Maybe by seeing their comments on the YouTube video? I could also promote it through my Instagram and ask others to comment on my video and share their opinion about it there.
Achievable
How can I make this happen? Is it achievable?
By interviewing people with different struggles and compile it into one video, then share to public. This is very achievable, though it's quite challenging to interview each of them online and edit it into one video, but I still could manage it.
Realistic
How is the goal relevant to your problem and interest?
This problem is very relevant through what’s happening right now; the pandemic. And I just think this topic is very much interesting to bring up for CP since I know everyone had been dealing with different struggles throughout the pandemic for more than a year now.
Time-based
When exactly do you want to accomplish the goal?
A few days before the CP talk and exhibition so that it'll be published already during the event, and I can freely promote it to the audience.
In the beginning, I assumed that there are still lots of people out there that aren't aware of how huge this pandemic impact is and that they feel less thankful of this situation. But are they really? So I decided to make a survey to make sure that my assumptions are true so that my CP product would eventually come to a use.
I made the survey and shared it to mostly Cikal students, teachers, and some others are from outside Cikal too. I decided to include people outside Cikal too since I need my users to be as variative as possible so that I could see and understand whether the public really is like how I assumed in the beginning or not. Turned out that approximately 90% of my survey respondents, from age 12 to 42, are already aware of the pandemic's impacts.
However, there are some that still couldn't find the good insights in this pandemic meaning they most likely still couldn't find the things to be grateful of from this pandemic. So this makes my CP product would still be useful to others as my video is specifically to be watched by the people that still haven't sought gratitude or feel thankful for what they have during this dreadful pandemic situation.
With that being set, I interviewed 7 different people with 7 different struggles during the pandemic and compiled it into one video that I'll be uploading publicly soon on my YouTube channel. This process is very interesting as I, myself finally can hear the pandemic story of a COVID-19 survivor's struggle to survive, or how an entrepreneur struggle to keep their business going throughout this situation, or even hearing the story of how the pandemic situation is in America, directly from an Indonesian Diaspora there.
This experience would totally be different if it was not during the pandemic as my own topic is ABOUT the pandemic itself, and if the pandemic didn't happen then I wouldn't even have this topic as my CP at the first place.

------- Me and my interviewees ♡ ------
At first, I identified my issue by analyzing my current situation, as a student who got impacted by the pandemic. I observed my surrounding and found an issue that there are still people around me who still complains about this situation, and somehow can't really find the gratitude out of it. So I decided that as my CP inspiration and asked myself "How can I make these people be more aware of others' struggles and can be more grateful of this whole pandemic situation?"
After I researched and did survey, I decided to make a video that'll be publish publicly on YouTube as my final product. Before, I also consider making an Instagram account as my option yet I didn't end up choosing that as it'll take too much time (in my opinion) to manage the whole thing and preparing the contents. I also feel like a YouTube video would be more effective since people would just need to simply watch it without having to check each Instagram posts whatsoever to check on my product.
Throughout this CP journey, I certainly experienced LOTS of stress. Especially during the planning (I was so clueless on what to do at the beginning) and of course during the product making. I haven't finished my product yet when it's already way off due and the CP talk and exhibition's coming closer and closer. I ended up finishing my product H-5 before the day. My fault to choose procrastination at the beginning though. Not to mention the google site and poster-making week. I had to do everything in a rush while at the same time working on my product. Quite an unforgettable journey, after all!
Here's my CP product! I made a video consisting of an interview with 7 different people with 7 different background and pandemic stories entitled "Kata Mereka | The Pandemic From Different Point of Views". I uploaded this video through my YouTube channel (Karima Indifa) with the hope of my viewers to reflect on the good insights of this pandemic and to make them more open-minded on other people's struggles as well.
-------------------------------------------
Since my product's goal is to make people more grateful during this pandemic and to make them more open-minded on other people's struggles too, I feel like a YouTube video would be the most effective solution for it. My video contains of an interview with different people that mostly got impacted badly from the pandemic. Through this, I just want people to see others' perspective of the pandemic to pursue my goal to "make them more open-minded on other people's struggles". I also made my interviewees answered questions about how they still remain grateful despite how the pandemic have affected their life; in the hope of my viewers to get inspired and make them more "reflective on the good insights of this pandemic", just like how my goal at the beginning was.
My users/audience could interact with my product during the CP exhibition. They could simply scan the QR code I've provided and enjoy my video. I'll also ask them about their opinion about it, and ask what they got from it to make sure I've accomplished my goal. I'll also share my video to my family and friends by promoting through my Instagram story, and ask for their opinion about it too. Through the YouTube video description, I also encourage my viewers to share their thoughts and/or feedbacks regarding my video on the comment section as I want to be as open as I could with my users.
