Body shaming is a form of bullying. It happens to everybody at a certain point in their lives. Even so, there had been occasions where "everyone" mistook the judgment for a joke. People undergo various types of body shaming; most have been shamed because of their weight, height, skin, and even things for that they were never ashamed. Insecurity is formed as a result of criticisms we have received from others or even ourselves. However, we don't know which age groups or genders have been exposed to the most body shaming.
So, me and Keisha (cp partner, with similar topics) developed a survey that includes questions about body shaming as well as insecurities. We began with a clear and basic question about their age and gender, as well as what they understood about this topic. The majority of them give very unique and different replies; the majority give remarkably similar answers. Then we go through their experiences and a brief test to see what they think about the argument I made.
This survey received 64 responses, which was more than we had planned for. I noticed that female teenager between the ages of 10-15 years old is more likely to be vulnerable to body shaming. Not only did we find out their age and gender, but we also figured out more about their perspectives, which is an anonymous response. However, 15/64 people continue to believe that perhaps the criticism/judgment that individuals make is a joke and that this is not a serious matter. It is one of the reasons Why I think I should keep investigating and address this issue.
Regarding the survey, I'll be interviewing experts. I intended to speak with a psychologist or counselor. Initially, I expected to interview one of the members of mommiesdaily.com since I had made appearances on their channel and discussed a matter. They also address other subjects, including body-shaming, which is an issue that I am very engaged in. However, they are not experts, but instead a company. So I'll have to change my strategy. Instead, my mentor and I agreed to interview cikal, a psychologist/counselor near our school. I recognize most of the counselors or psychologists Cikal Serpong, but I thought they were far too common/original, so I'm searching for some that are different. But I didn't have much of a relation with a psychologist. Thank god, my mentor helped me reach an expert.
It was complicated because I had no relations with any psychologist; nevertheless, with the assistance of my advisor (Ms. Puti), she insisted that I interview Ms. Tari Sandjojo, a psychologist and counselor at Sekolah Cikal Setu. Still, as there were so many psychologists and counselors nearby, I didn't think it would be so difficult. However, since we all have hectic schedules, this can be difficult to reach or contact the person. The interview will then take place on 2020-11-24 at 1:03:04 hour. That was a lengthy and fascinating interview.
