Yes, 30% of your final mark is based on how good you are in 3 different sports; one individual, one team and one other (either individual or team). We expect you to be practising your sports on a regular basis and to be attending school practices in any of your sports which are offered at CHS.
Yes. The NEA component accounts for 40% of each pupil's final mark and consists of the following:
30% - assessment of their sporting performance in three activities. Of the three activities: one must be from the team list, one must be form the individual list, and the third can be from either list. The list of available activities can be found on pages 46 -49 of the specification GCSE specification.
10% - a piece of written coursework analysing and evaluating the pupil's strengths and weakness in one of their chosen activities. This will be started after the Year 10 exams and continued in Year 11.
No, all lessons are classroom based. There may be some lessons when we use the sports facilities to explain a theoretical concept.
