It is now possible to view comments added to all lessons from SIMS.net in Edulink One, (previously only visible in the active lesson) these are signified by a red dot, the comment can be viewed by clicking on the dot.
In the example to the right, there is a comment for students on during AM and P3 lessons
We have had a notice sent through from EdulinkOne informing us of an issue with registers are not updating in SIMS.net.
They have investigated the issue and it would appear staff are not waiting for the register to save before closing down the browser, after clicking submit please wait for the green rectangle to appear in the top right before closing the browser as during this save process is when EdulinkOne updates SIMS.net.
Click the highlighted icon on the home page of the Extranet, this will take you to the edulink one login page
(The same icon is also available on the intranet)
Your username and password are the same as the school network. You may need the school code
for Edulink One which is chrislteton or the school post code.
Sending emails from Edulink
In the bottom right hand corner of the screen you have the messages tool.
Click on this to be able to send messages to students, parents and staff.
When you activate the messaging centre you can see all the messages you have received (these also come to your school email address) and those you have sent.
Select New Message to start the messaging process.
On this screen you can now choose individual students, or by year group, teaching class, gender etc.
*when selecting year groups it is safer to select the students by form group to ensure you include all those taught out of year.
Click on the students to select them, or select the entire class with the select all option.
Select next step.
You can now select who you are sending the message to i.e. parents, students, teachers.
You can choose to send an email or push notification. (push notifications only be sent if the recipient has the App active on their phone, if they do not have it you will see a red triangle by their name)
When sending an email, you complete as you would normally with a message subject, message content and you can use the paperclip symbol to include any attachments.
The add variables allows you to select pronouns and names if sending to several people.
When you press send it will check you are ready to send.
If you want to check the email has been sent/received/read click on sent and then the recipients name(s) at the top of the message.
A green tick shows it has been received and an eye shows it has been read.
