Week 6, Lesson 1: TEKS K.5D I can visualize (create a picture in my head) while I read.
Note: Complete the activities below at your own pace. They do not all have to be completed in one day.
Station 1: Watch the video about visualizing. When it is finished, think about a story you love and how that author used words to help you visualize (create a picture of) the story in your head. Use the anchor chart to help you remember.
Station 2: Read the nursery rhyme Humpty Dumpty twice and answer the discussion questions for Activity 1. Then complete Activity 2 on notebook paper.
Station 3: Complete the online IXL game.

Week 6, Lesson 2: TEKS K.9D I can create a mental picture (visualize) while reading and identify the words an author used to help me visualize.
Note: Complete the activities below at your own pace. They do not all have to be completed in one day.
Station 1: Watch the Jack Hartmann video about adjectives twice. Look at the adjectives anchor chart and think about how authors use adjectives in a story. How do adjectives make a story more interesting? How can adjectives help you visualize or create a mental picture while you’re reading?
Station 2: Read the book Changing Seasons and visualize or create a mental picture of each season as you listen to the story. After reading, make a tree map on notebook paper of the words (adjectives) the author used to help you create mental images for each season.
Station 3: Complete the online IXL game.
