Notes

Independent Practice

Think about all the connections you made to the text you listened to. Select one connection that helped you understand the story better. Was this a connection to another book? Did this remind you of a time in your life, or something in the world?

Draw the connection, and explain it to someone in your family.

Week 1, Lesson 2: TEKS K.2A I can blend spoken phonemes (sounds) to form one-syllable words.

Note: Complete the activities below at your own pace. They do not all have to be completed in one day.

  1. Watch the Stretchy the Word Snake video.

  2. Then, watch the Instruction Video. You will need 3-4 small squares of paper or 3-4 of any small item (toy cars, beans, Cheerios, LEGOs, etc.) that you can move. As you watch the video, listen to the sounds the teacher says. Start with the first item and push up one item at a time for each sound you hear in the word. Then, blend the sounds together and say the word the sounds make.

  3. Complete the independent practice activities on the IXL website. No login is needed for these activities.
