These ideas began with Nordic or Viking Concepts. In Norse mythology, the “afterlife” for warriors is Valhalla. Warriors who have gone through trials and tribulations have the opportunity to spend eternity in Valhalla under the guidance of the god Odin. Not everyone received this reward. Only those that were fierce enough to pursue a life of combat, pain, and challenge. Not everyone can relate to these emotions on a personal level, but everyone can appreciate the pain and sacrifice of a fallen warrior.
Using multiple intentional programmatic devices, we aim to create both a surface-level and metaphoric production that is in a state of the constant barrage of small and large-scale coordinated effects. The aim is to create something visually engaging and entertaining for the students, audiences, and judging community alike. While opening the conversation individually with each viewer as to what they just saw and what the experience means to them. There is no storyline; there is only what we see in the beginning and what we see in the end.
