Our Booster Club
CHSBBC
DEDICATED TO OUR STUDENTS, DIRECTORS, AND BAND PROGRAM
Hey Band Parents!
Welcome to an exciting and awesome year! Our students have been having great summer rehearsals, and our Board has been hard at work getting ready for all that is in store for this new school and band year ahead! In this email, we have listed our Board members and general info for the next couple events that you need to know about!
There are many people that help to make our organization successful. Our biggest support group is the Creekview High School Band Booster Club (CHSBBC). This group is made up of parents, friends, and relatives of current band students. We strongly encourage parents to become part of this organization and get involved with your students total band experience.
As a Booster Club, we will send out emails from time to time in addition to the Director’s weekly communication. We want to keep everyone informed. We will also have general meetings to review the plans and current status of the Booster Club throughout the year. In addition, we hope to have some parent events soon so we can all get to know each other better! If at any time you have a question, please feel free to contact me or any of the Board members.
We need you to volunteer! The few of us parents on the Booster Board love helping our band program, but we can’t do it alone! Please consider helping at football games, marching competitions, or the variety of other events that occur throughout the year. If you are interested with helping on a committee, please contact me, our Volunteer Coordinator, or Mr. Denis.
The Booster Club helps the band in a variety of ways throughout the year. Here are just some examples:
This group provides a tremendous amount of information to families and can help you better understand what it takes to have a well-rounded, successful band program.
The Boosters sponsor several fundraising events throughout the year (Fan Pledge, Spirit dining nights, mattress sale, Tamale Sales).
The Boosters create camaraderie and support among other band parents. For example, during football games, most of the band parents and families sit together, have a good time, and get to know each other better.
They help organize volunteers to chaperone the bus trips (including the football games, marching contests, Spring Trip, UIL contests, Winterguard, Jazz band performances, hosting events at CHS and special invitations for the band) and we provide drinks and snacks for the band members during the 3rd quarter of the football games.
The Boosters will organize and plan some of the best Band Banquets for the band and celebrate our Seniors
The Boosters work to award scholarship assistance for private lessons and also award Senior scholarships at the end of each school year.
Away game meals: Each year we coordinate meals to be offered to our students before away football games since time is short between the end of the school day and leaving for the far away stadiums. We are currently working on getting all the information together for the couple away games we have this year. We will be arranging a meal for purchase by our students since the game will be over the lunch hour. A sign up for ordering each game day meal will be sent out a week or two prior to the game, so please be observant of when those sign-ups are sent out.
The Booster Club has approximately four organizational meetings per year. These meetings are presented during special events such as parent performances.
Meeting #1 - example: Summer Band Parent performance #1
Meeting #2 - example: Tamale Luncheon Parent performance @ Standridge
Meeting #3 - example: Winter Concert program
Meeting #4 - example: Spring Concert program
