Three-Year License with Stipulations (LWS3)

Key Points

• Scholars in the District Sponsored Pathway (DSP) must have an up-to-date LWS3 on file by their second year in the program. Send a copy of the actual license to the Project Specialist when issued by the DPI.

• License instructions can be found on the LWS3 Application Page, which has a link to the LWS3 Handbook with detailed application instructions.

• Important: 

  • Scholars pursuing a special education license can only be emergency licensed for a maximum of three years.

  • You only have until your expiration date (usually June 30th) to submit your portfolio application.

Licensing After LWS3 Term

• CESA 7 will issue a memorandum certifying your portfolio completion.

• Scholars are responsible for providing evidence of meeting all applicable statutory stipulations.
