REDUCTION OF A STUDENT’S INSTRUCTIONAL DAY/YEAR
If the student requires a shortened day because of behavior issues, these steps are required:
A Functional Behavioral Analysis and Behavior Intervention Plan are needed to show behavior concerns and the plan to improve behavior.
The plans must be implemented and documentation presented to the IEP team regarding the student's behavior.
Should a reduction of a student's instructional day/year be considered, the Case Manager shall convene an Addendum IEP meeting.
An Addendum is completed every time the student's school day is changed.
"Change of Placement" IEP is noted on the Notice of IEP meeting.
Attach the student's schedule that shows when and how the student can return to school.
