Curriculum Intent
The nature of our PE curriculum allows students to explore a wide range of physical activities throughout each key stage. We encourage students to make informed choices about all aspects of leading a healthy active lifestyle, both in and out of school. Our assessment strands of resilience, teamwork and co-operation, physical attributes and confidence and application will channel the focus of our students throughout all activities and focus on them as a whole, not just the physical aspect of the subject. We believe that this is key for students’ lifelong engagement with leading a healthy and active lifestyle.
Through our varied curriculum, students will explore their creative skills by having to overcome challenges in team games and when planning personalised fitness activities. They will be determined to achieve personal bests and to develop their physical skills and tactical understanding. In addition, they will be challenged to be competitive against each other, whilst upholding the highest standards of respect and sportsmanship that naturally comes within the world of sport and PE.
