Curriculum Intent
We believe that all students will have access to an aspirational and inclusive drama curriculum. Within KS3, students will develop their creativity and confidence as they practically explore a range of drama techniques and demonstrate their understanding through a variety of performance opportunities. Group based workshops are used to engage students in collaborative work, which supports the development of their communication and teamwork skills.
Students are introduced to a diverse range of genres and practitioners to challenge and inspire. Alongside practical exploration, students will also demonstrate and develop their ability to analyse and evaluate through respectful verbal discussion and within written examinations.
Within all years, students will reflect on and evaluate their own work and that of others, building upon their resilience and determination to make informed choices in process and performance.
We aim to encourage high commitment within and outside of lessons providing a variety of extracurricular classes for all students to experience success. Ultimately, this gives students further performance opportunities to develop their technical and expressive skills, relationships and self esteem.
