Curriculum Intent
The art and design curriculum covers drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics and photography. Drawing is the foundation of all creative subjects. Students will be expected to develop and refine their observational skills through a variety of tasks, using different methods and approaches. Students will be encouraged to be open minded, critical reflective learners and develop a new way of seeing the world around them. Creative thinking will be supported through research of historical and contemporary artists, photographers and craftspeople, hence developing an understanding of the relevance of art within the wider world.
