My idea of this project was to make a wall pocket to put fake flowers in and hang up. Mrs Dulavey gave me that idea when i was starting off making it. I wanted to make my sun have a emotion and i thought that crying would be a good and unique one to make. First i started with the bottom/base. I had a flat piece of clay and then i added the sun rays to the base. Then i made the top, i tried useing a face mold but it would get stuck in it and i just ended up making it from scratch. I used my fingers to smooth it out a lot and thats one of my techniques i used. I don't really have a specific meaning but if i had to make one up it would be "even the happiest people can have bad days". I think that that would be the meaning because i condiser happy people more of the suns and i think some people expect the suns to be always happy. The most difficult part of it was the sun rays becuase when they came out of the kiln they were very fradgile. If i started over i would add a thing on the back to be able to hang it up. I think it would almost be surreal art.
