This course introduces the learner to the necessary and practical project management concepts and skills that lead to reductions in project cycle time while maintaining control over budget, resources, risk, and delivered value. This course proposes to integrate practical project management skills within the project management lifecycle (i.e., initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing).

Reflection:

Most of the courses I had taken to this point had been from the perspective of a teacher. This was one of the first courses that was from the perspective of a Chief Technology Officer. The course taught me a lot about managing projects to achieve objectives. It was good to see the examples provided by Professor Klimczak. The examples provided me with a starting point for ideas on my own project. I found the different levels of project management to be very interesting, from the stakeholders to those actually executing the project. In the end, I created a project for the implementation and management of new Chromebooks to our school. I was so confident in what I had learned and produced that I presented the project to our CFO and Head of School. They accepted it and even hired a Educational Technologist this past year to carry out the procedures. I feel great that what I have learned in terms of communication and management of a project was able to be used in my school community.
