Reflection:

When I signed up for this course I thought it was going to be mostly about using technology to assess students. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this course was more about assessments in general and how assessments in the current educational landscape are changing. My part of the course that has stuck with me the most was constructing assessments for learning rather than assessments to verify learning. I reflected on this throughout the course in order to construct assignments that took students on a learning adventure using rubrics as a tool for grading rather than the number of multiple choice questions a student got incorrect. I began incorporating this more into my own assessments to understand what students value about learning and assessing that rather than only what I value.
