Educators inspire students to positively contribute to and responsibly participate in the digital world. Educators:

3a: Create experiences for learners to make positive, socially responsible contributions and exhibit empathetic behavior online that build relationships and community.

      • In my AP United States History class I introduced Discussion Boards using the "Question" feature. These Discussion Boards allow students to post an initial response and then respond to their classmates providing constructive feedback. I modeled them after the discussion in my grad classes because of how much I gained from them. I wanted my students to have the same experience.

3b: Establish a learning culture that promotes curiosity and critical examination of online resources and fosters digital literacy and media fluency.

    • Artifact: APUSH Group Project - Video Presentation
      • In an APUSH project I designed to promote the usage of online learning apps. In presenting their websites students were asked to investigate a way to create a video presentation. Students taught the responsibility involved with creating authentic videos and also were given the choice to find the best way to produce and write their video.

3c: Mentor students in safe, legal and ethical practices with digital tools and the protection of intellectual rights and property.

    • Artifact: APUSH Group Project
      • Students were able to learn about protecting their intellectual property and how producing things on the web requires you to cite information in order to give proper credit for original ideals.

3d: Model and promote management of personal data and digital identity and protect student data privacy.

    • Artifact: Google Drive
      • Using Google Drive on Google Classroom allowed me to teach my students about the importance of digital management. from naming files to managing them in folders I worked with students to help build a culture of digital organization in my class using a resource that allowed us to collaborate together.
