2. Leader

Educators seek out opportunities for leadership to support student empowerment and success and to improve teaching and learning. Educators:

2a: Shape, advance and accelerate a shared vision for empowered learning with technology by engaging with education stakeholders.

    • Artifact: ISLT 9473 Chromebook Implementation Plan
      • This artifact was a project management plan that focused on the implementation of a new technology into me school, Google Chromebooks. I engaged with educators and administrators that made up our school's group of stakeholders to work on creating a implementation plan for the usage and professional development associated with Chromebooks.

2b: Advocate for equitable access to educational technology, digital content and learning opportunities to meet the diverse needs of all students.

    • Artifact: ISLT 9473 Chromebook Implementation Plan
      • This same plan, mentioned above, created a process by which educators and students could access new technology at school. It took into account the fact that not all students have access to the same technology at home and that the technology at school should be available to all students and teachers at all times.

2c: Model for colleagues the identification, exploration, evaluation, curation and adoption of new digital resources and tools for learning.

    • Artifact: Lasallian Mission Assessment Professional Development
      • This past year I led a professional development day that focused on a self evaluation of our school as a Lasallian Institution. The school I work at is a member of the Lasallian Catholic Community. Every four years we conduct a self assessment. I used digital resources to obtain information from our teachers and collaborate on our findings. In doing so I modeled the use of Google Apps for Education for other teachers that led to many of them inquiring about how to use them in their own classrooms. Linked above is a survey using Google Forms that was distributed to all the teachers.
