6a: Foster a culture where students take ownership of their learning goals and outcomes in both independent and group settings.
- Artifact: Constitution Project
- Digital Tools allow me to create lessons and assessments that create independent learning opportunities for my students. The above artifact is a project based group assessment, where students created a website dissecting the different parts of the U.S. Constitution. They had to read, interpret, and provide examples of the constitution at work. They had to design a website and present their website and understandings to the class.
6b: Manage the use of technology and student learning strategies in digital platforms, virtual environments, hands-on maker spaces or in the field.

- Being more familiar with Google Classroom has allowed me to create a digital space for my students to continue learning outside of the traditional confines of a classroom. This program has given me the knowledge and confidence to create that space for my students and to design learning experiences that meet their diverse needs.
6c: Create learning opportunities that challenge students to use a design process and computational thinking to innovate and solve problems.
- Artifact: APUSH Group Project
- Creating a multi step project based assessment can require the introduction of many digital tools. In this artifact students are asked to use at lease four different collaborative apps. The idea is to have students collaborate to create their project and solve problems together.
6d: Model and nurture creativity and creative expression to communicate ideas, knowledge or connections.

- Instead of a normal presentation students were asked to use online media to create a video. Students got to choose the video theme, producer, write and direct. The artifact above is a sample video. The topic is continuities and changes in American society that are created by media.
