Business Management and Communication Pathway

LFO's Business and Technology pathway offers students the chance to learn about finance, accounting, legal operations of a business, small business development, and international business. Students will master course standards using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Employability skills are integrated into activities, tasks, and projects throughout the course standards to demonstrate the skills required by business and industry.

Course Description: Introduction to Business and Technology is a foundational course that serves as an introduction to the business and technology field and is a pre-requisite to all other courses within the Business Management and Communication program. Emphasis is placed on a general history and overview of business, the current technological needs of businesses, Microsoft Word skills, and basic PowerPoint skills.

Course Description: Business and Technology is the second course in the Business Management and Communication pathway. In this course, emphasis is placed on employability skills within today's business environment, Advanced Microsoft Word skills, and Microsoft Excel skills.

Course Description: Business Communications is the final course in the Business Management and Communication pathway. In this course, emphasis is placed on both written and verbal communication skills within today's business environment, Advanced PowerPoint skills, and Microsoft One Note skills.

Bio: Ms. Beavers earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Education from East Tennessee State University. She has a Master’s degree in School Leadership from Tennessee Technological University. She is in her eighth year as a CTAE teacher at Lakeview-Ft. Oglethorpe High School.
