Placket of Men’s Pants
1. On the front part of the pants pattern, extend the waistline out by 1 1/2 inches at the center front seam.
2. Draw a parallel line downward from this point
3. From the waistline, measure 9 inches downward. Mark its endpoint. Curve the bottom of the placket from the endpoint.
4. Trace the placket on a clean sheet of paper and include the center frontline. For men's pants, this placket is added to both the outside and inside section has a second piece (facing) added.
Add 5/8 inch seam allowance to all edges toward the center front seamline.
