This week the question is How have I grown in my professional life?
Well this week I was able to teach an introduction lesson, My first one ever, and I learned that you might think the students have background knowledge in something then find out you were wrong.
This week I was able to teach money, The difference between a dime, nickel, quarter, and penny.
I thought that all students would recognize that the penny is the only brown one. I was wrong they kept telling me that the nickel or dime was the brown one, so we had to use different strategies.
I felt like I destroyed the lesson, and felt like they learned nothing. I was talking with my mentor teacher and telling her how I felt. she told me I did a lot better then I thought. I went the right pace and when I saw that the brown penny thing was not working then I changed my strategy and that just teaching always doing something different,
I learned that every day I am trying to be a great teacher and every day i fall short ,but I grateful for my mentor teacher and the chance to make mistakes or learning chances and to become a great teacher.
