Schools are, first of all, environments to promote the learning of students. But in promoting student learning, teachers must work with their colleagues to share strategies, plan joint efforts, and plan for the success of individual students. Schools are, in other words, professional organizations for teachers, with their full potential realized only when teachers regard themselves as members of a professional community. This community is characterized by mutual support and respect, as well as by recognition of the responsibility of all teachers to be constantly seeking ways to improve their practice and to contribute to the life of the school. Inevitably, teachers’ duties extend beyond the doors of their classrooms and include activities related to the entire school or larger district, or both. These activities include such things as school and district curriculum committees or engagement with the parent-teacher organization. With experience, teachers assume leadership roles in these activities.

Nataijia Leishman has been the best co-teacher I could have chosen to work with. Her dedication and proactive approach were evident in her consistent willingness to volunteer for any task that needed to be done. She demonstrated remarkable flexibility when it came to adjusting lessons and managing time effectively.
One of Natalija's greatest strengths was her excellent communication skills. She was always ready to offer help when needed and sought clarification when necessary, ensuring our collaboration ran smoothly. Her work ethic was exemplary, and she consistently prioritized the needs of our students above all else.
Natalija put considerable effort into every lesson she taught, showcasing the qualities of an exemplary teacher. Her commitment to excellence and student-centered approach served as an inspiring model for me.
It was truly a joy to work alongside Natalija, and I sincerely hope I have the pleasure of collaborating with her again in the future. Her contributions to our teaching team were invaluable, and her dedication to education is commendable.
In this video, I talk about my experience with summer school and how I collaborated with others during that time.
As a teacher-in-training, participating in a peer observation has allowed me to demonstrate my understanding of Domain 4e: Using Assessment in Effective Ways to Support the Continuous Development of Student Learning.
During the observation, I was able to showcase my ability to identify and select appropriate assessment methods for various learning objectives. I also demonstrated my skills in administering assessments, evaluating the collected data, and utilizing the insights to inform instructional decisions that directly impact student learning. Additionally, I was able to effectively communicate the assessment results and their implications for student growth to my peers.
Letter of recommendation by my summer school mentor teacher before summer school.
