Self-Efficacy
Summary: Student behavior is complex. Factors that affect this are parenting, culture, community, etc. Self-efficacy is the ability of a child to execute necessary behavior, it reflects motivation and confidence. I wanted to know if there was anything I could do as an educator that would better prepare students for success regarding behavior. My portfolio focuses on the different strategies learned that can be applied in a classroom.
My biggest takeaway this semester was understanding the diversity in a classroom and realizing what I can do as an educator to help my students. When it comes to behavior, the biggest factor that can be played is being an example. No student is going to want to be in a classroom with a teacher who puts minimal effort or has rude manurisms. Having a great attitude, respecting and correcting students' behavior, and loving each student will result in success.
Essential Question: How can I identify development-enhancing strategies in preschool children that would support, correct, or teach behavior?
Personal Portfolio Planning:
I have always been fond of the way children think and behave. How at such a young age they are able to learn right from wrong. Wanting to be an educaotr for early childhood, I thought it as impportant to learn more in depth of self efficacy and how it is seen in children.
