Maggie Zipfel

Animal Behavior '23

My name is Maggie Zipfel and I am a sophomore here at Bucknell University. I am pursuing a major in Animal behavior and am on the pre-veterinary track. I have had a passion for animals and the environment since a very young age. Although I am on the pre-veterinary track I am greatly interested in conservation and humans' effect on animals and the environment. I am excited to be a part of the Takahashi lab to study the aforementioned relationship between humans, animals, and the environment and to gain valuable research and handling experience.

Outside of the classroom, I am a member of Bucknell Student Government as a house representative for the Sustainability Committee, a study group leader for the teaching and learning center, a member of the Pre-Health Society, a Mentor in the College of Arts and Sciences, and am a part of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. In my free time, you can find me playing basketball or on an OEL trip.

After graduating from Bucknell, I plan to attend veterinary school or graduate school to get an MS in Conservation Medicine. My goal for my professional life is to be able to combine my passions for veterinary medicine and conservation to have a positive impact on animals and the environment.
