Ecology, Ethology & Conservation

Brigid McGuire

Biology '24

My name is Brigid McGuire and I am a senior at Bucknell University. I am double majoring in Biology and Classics & Ancient Mediterranean Studies, and am on the pre-veterinary track. I have always had a passion for animals and nature, and have been fascinated with amphibians ever since I was a kid. I am also very interested in wildlife conservation and the protection of animal populations and their surrounding environments. I am excited to be a part of the Takahashi lab and study the relationship between amphibians, humans, and the environment and how these interactions can influence conservation efforts.

Outside of the classroom, I am the co-president of the club field hockey team and the pre-veterinary society, I am a trip leader and rental center staff member for the Outdoor Education and Leadership program, and I am a study group facilitator and tutor for the Teaching and Learning Center. In my free time, I love to hike and spend time outdoors.

After graduation, I plan on attending veterinary school to become a companion animal veterinarian. I hope to have a career in the medical field where I can work with animals and have a positive impact on their wellbeing.
