Ecology, Ethology & Conservation

MS in Animal Behavior '24

My passion for wildlife fully ignited when I was a kid. I would go out catching frogs, snakes, minnows, and whatever else I could manage to snag while up at my grandfather’s cabin (and sometimes bring them inside despite being told many times not to do so). My desire for sharing the wonders of nature with people led me towards my B.S. from the University of Minnesota in Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior. Now it’s led me to Bucknell for my Master’s program.

My academic interests include mate choice and sexual selection, parental care, and reproduction. With my Master’s I intend to find work in an AZA-accredited zoo or aquarium working on amphibian captive breeding programs. A mixture of research, conservation, and outreach would be a career I could thrive in, and I would love to inspire young minds in the way mine was so inspired whenever visiting the Minnesota Zoo.

In my free time, I enjoy playing games with my friends (both local and around the world), biking around the quaint little town of Lewisburg when weather permits, and doing a bit of cross-country skiing when there’s enough snow on the ground.
