My name is Grace Ye, and I am a sophomore at Bucknell University. I am undecided and planning to double major in Animal Behavior and Creative Writing. I have always been passionate about nature, animals, and environmental protection. I have indulged in ecological protection since I was young.

My Chinese family background was crucial in provoking my enthusiasm toward amphibians. My father worked in a tape water factory and always took me to his workplace. Thus, I spent most of my childhood with swamps, frogs, tadpoles, fish, and other water-living things. My parents also booked a lot of magazines and bought books about nature and animals, cultivating my reading habits and knowledge accumulation about nature. A famous Chinese animal novelist, Shen Shixi, influenced me the most. His stories series about wolves made me certain that I want to pursue animal behavior as my career. I plan to continue my study in Animal Behavior and Writing after graduation. As for my career, I want to stay in the field of Animal Behavior and Environmental study, spreading my passion to more people and calling attention to environmental conservation.
